Computers
Computers are offered as an elective class at CAL.
Students begin the class learning to use Microsoft Word. This is a word processing program which they can continue to use throughout their education and even into the work place. This program is used to type and create a variety of documents. Students will learn all the basics of the program and some advanced features.
We then move on to Microsoft Power Point. This is a fun program that students always enjoy learning to use. It is multi media program which allows students to create visual presentations through a slide show. The program can be used for a variety of purposes, including the presentations of class reports and projects.
Students will also spend supervised time learning to navigate their way on the internet. Once again this is a vital tool that can richly enhance one’s education. Students are not allowed to send email or visit chatrooms.
